With rapid development of computer technology, mathematical model is applied more and more in the study of problem associated with sediment transport of a river. And the type of the model has been expanded from one-dimension model to two-dimension, even three-dimension one. The flow-sediment mathematical model has play an important rule in studying the movement laws of water flow and sediment motion and riverbed evolution of a river due to its characteristics of convenience, high effectiveness and low cost. It has been a long history for this kind of the model to be adopted and researched. Many results from the model have been applied to practical engineering, such as water conservancy, environment, port and channel, flood defense, and etc; and taken as an important guidance for the planning, continuous developing and utilizing of water resources.Associated with the projec《tOn the mechanism of the shrinkage of down-stream channel of Wei river and the response of flood control to the shrinkage》supported by the education department of Shaanxi, This thesis aims to research the channel two-dimensional flow-sediment mathematical model. Follows are the works done:1. From the laws of conservation of mass momentum, a new plane two-dimensional flow-sediment mathematical model was been established on the basis of the modification of the existing model. The new model adopts the double value sediment carrying capacity formula and takes the boundary globule siltation into an account, which was never been done before.2. The thesis used the diagonal Cartesian method to carry out the simulation to the irregular complex boundary. The proposed model is a non-coupling sediment transport model. The ADI method was for the numerical computation method. The upstream scheme was used in the case of discrete, and the orthogonal even grid is for the computation grid.3. The Matlab computer programming for the mathematical model with the data from experiment had carried out the value computation. And finally the model was been modified.
