The contraction between the Chinese calligraphy art and architecture are keepingsteady dating back to ancient times. The object of the thesis is the Chinese calligraphyand the spatial form of architecture, exploring the nature of Chinese calligraphy artand its atheoretical significance on China’s current architectural design.In general, the points, lines, planes are form languages to express the spatialform of architecture. In the points and the lines of Chinese calligraphy, they have thesame elements and principle. This provides possibility for the correlation study ofChinese calligraphy art and architecture. Point, line and plane constitute the basic artactor. Chinese calligraphy is composed of points and lines, working according to thelayout theory of calligraphy, each point and every line has its own air, and the spacedivide by them are different. For construction, building space is composed of theprime generator of form: point, line, plane and volume.The first chapter is introduction, the second chapter is about the unique conceptof space, its philosophical base, its principle and element. The third chapter is aboutthe spatial form of architecture, analyzing the spatial Form in Architecture and theexisting problems. The fouth chapter analyzing the similarity of Chinese calligraphyand the spatial form of architecture. Analyzing four main methods. Aim to stimulatethe thinking of building space form design, to inspire designers see calligraphy from arational perspective.The last chapter is conclusion and outlook.
