From the three Dynasties to the academy of Hanand Tang dynasties, from the academy of Wei and Jin dynasties to the academy of Song andMing dynasties, there is a campus garden construction style of public school and privateschool be formed,having the characteristic of traditional Chinese color.Since the modern times, with the idea of "western learning spreading to the east" and"western use of Chinese style”, western education idea with western colonialism hadfar-reaching influence on Chinese education. Fortunately, in recent years,"garden campus"and"ecological campus" are valued and showing the trend of more and more attention. It reflectsthe back of trational capmus construction theory. From the Chinese to western, thencombination, at last it returns to tradition, Chinse campus garden construction mature slowly.Based on a review of studies on ancient Chinese formed excellent experience on campusgarden construction and from a macro perspective of campus planning, this paper use a unique perspective to read campus garden construction on address selection,planning ideasand internal layout forms, in order to give some advise about modern campus consrtuction intime and space.First, this paper presents the research goal and the significance, feasibility andthe research in the theory and the material, and explains the research methods adopted in thisstudy, also pointed out the deficiencies of this research. Secondly, examine the historicaldevelopment China campus garden construction from the macro historical time dimension,and the ancient campus landscape construction as the research subject, exploring ancientexcellent experience of contemporary campus garden construction; then it studies the specificcharacteristics of modern campus construction on address selection,planning ideas andinternal layout forms,at the same time, the existing form of the campus garden isinvestigated,for example,the single building,flowers and plants,square,water and so on,further explains the internal reasons and deficiency. This paper reveals the campus garden’sculture on the special role of education.
