Earthquake is one of the severest natural disasters that often causing tremendous damage to the security of people’s life and regional economic development. It has attached great importance to government and relevant ministries since On April20,2013, an earthquake of magnitude7.0strike Lushan county in Ya’an, Sichuan Province which affected Ya’an, Chengdu, Leshan and other32areas. Varying degrees of losses were suffered, especially in rural mountain district where natural villages spread, traffic inconvenient and damage complicated. In combination with AIM international competition of Post-Earthquake Reconstruction Ya’an Sichuan—Rebuild Panda’s hometown from the earthquake, a conceptual scheme is designed for Village Xueshan’s landscape renewal. This paper, therefore, taking the landscape renewal of Village Xueshan as the subject, attempts to study from the methods of planning after disaster, village planning and designing, sustainable development. It analyzes the development in domestic village planning and general methods of village design after disaster and explores the strategy and policy for village landscape renewal in western Sichuan. Then to summarize the designing procedure and example in order to approaching the new look of organic renewal, inherited simplicity, habitable living, ecological environment.The innovation of this paper is embodied in three aspects. Firstly the landscape renewal is under both sides of nature and human. Secondly it is a combination of landscape organic renewal and village planning. Thirdly it enriches and complements the landscape designing study in western Sichuan. Our western country is mountainous, seismic and rural. Mountain landscape design would be applied widely. It can be an typical example of mountainous landscape design that providing reference for similar village reconstruction or local planning and construction department on development train of thoughts.
