The city park is the most important ingredient of the urban green landsystem and the important carrier of people’s spiritual life. In the process of long-termdevelopment, China’s City Park as a result of outdated facilities, the layout of manyyears of accumulated clutter arising from the question of the aging phenomenon. Withthe change of aesthetic standards and the way of the new urban park, China’s old CityPark faced a major challenge. How to reflect the traditional cultural and geographicalcharacteristics would be the focus of park reconstruction. It is the main problem ofthis paper whether integrate the narrative landscape into the park reconstruction canmake park rejuvenated and the continuation of the urban culture or not.This paper takes the old urban park as research object, and based on relatednarrative theory of science,the dissertation also analyzis and explore historical citieson the viewpoint of landscape narrative. First,using documentation to summarizes thedevelopment history and present situation of city park in China,and research status ofnarrative landscape design methods in China and other countries. Combined with therelated concept to summarize the narrative mode of landscape space designexpression. By surveying and collecting the material to analyse the resources ofPeople’s Park of DanCheng. According to the methods of narrative landscape toreconstruct the landscape of People’s Park of DanCheng. Trying to summarizeimprovement strategy of reconstruction of city park that has rich cultural by using thenarrative landscape theory. To provide new ideas and methods for the design ofcomprehensive park transformation, and achieve a perfect combination of localculture and landscape design. Providing a practical guidance for engineering practice.
