Iron-core reactor is an important and indispensable power equipment whichplay roles as current limit, reactive power compensation and filter functions in powergrid. With the continuous development of CAD technology, the production enterprisestaff began to study how to design iron-core reactor more conveniently and efficiently. Thus, the technology gets more and more attention. In the thesis, the series iron-core reactor is studied from several aspects ofelectromagnetic design, parametric design and finite element method analysis. Thetraditional electromagnetic design process of iron-core reactor and the designcalculation of iron-core reactor are introduced, the Visual Basic software is used todevelop the design software of iron-core, and the iron-core reactor design calculationsheet is obtained. Meanwhile, VB and Solidworks software are used to complete theparameterized modeling of iron-core reactor and assemble the parameterizedmodeling. In order to achieve the magnetic induction intensity distribution, the3dmodel is imported into the finite element software Ansoft to analyze the steadymagnetic field, and energy method which is combined with inductance matrix is usedto calculate the inductance value of iron-core reactor. Furthermore, Ansys workbenchis used to calculate copper loss and iron-core loss of the calculation sheet as a heatsource. The iron-core reactor temperature field is analyzed by using the finite elementsimulation to obtain the temperature distribution. Through comparing with calculatedtemperature rise, whether the temperature rise meets the demand of the insulatingheat-resistant grades is determined. At last, voltammetry is used to carry out iron-core reactor experiment, theinductance of iron-core is calculated and verified with simulation. At the same time, the infrared thermometer is used to test the temperature to check the simulationresults and no big difference is found. In this dissertation, the results have shown that finite element analysis can be used instead of traditional electromagnetic calculationon inductance calculation and temperature distribution. The method has a certainengineering application value.
