Study On The Architecture Decoration Of The Traditional Residents In Dabie Mountains

This thesis belongs to the "twelfth five-year" national science and technologyplan project “Henan Province Department of Education project to create a technologyresearch based on the geographical features of the Henan local settlement”, ProjectNo.2009B560013.Dabie Mountain is located at the border of Henan, Hubei and Anhui Province.The traditional residents of Dabie Mountain belong to subtype of transitionaltraditional residents. The architectural decoration style of Dabie Mountain reflects thefusion and collision of folk architectural and artistic arts and its unique and colorfulart and culture architectural characteristics.The thesis is divided into two aspects from its structure and content:thecharacters and parts about the traditional residents of Dabie Mountain and the regionalcharacteristics and cause of the traditional residents of Dabie Mountain.Theysupplement each other and prove each other. The thesis will demonstrate thedecorative characters and causes of the residents of Dabie Mountain through thecrossover studies of Human Geography, Sociology, Folklore, Architecture. Accordingto Human Geography, the characters and causes about decoration are studied from thedetails. It is based on large amount of research analysis, sampled from3towns ofHenan in Dabie Mountain, which are Xin Town, Shangcheng Town, Guangshan Townand3towns in Northeastern Province which are Dawu Town, Hongan Town, LuotianTown, and the traditional residents of Wanxi Jinzhai Town. The research is alsoinvolved with a good deal of visits to the local villagers of25traditional montanicsettlements and investigation into the villages, genealogy, literature counseling andfield surveys. With these materials and research results, the thesis will make aclassification and summarization of the decoration of Dabai Residents.On the basis of the theory and vivid evidence, the thesis does not only analyzethe cultural phenomena and its geographical cultural environment of Dabie residentsbut also make a comprehensive study of the insight into the characters of traditionalresidents featuring cultural transition and geographical border and its culture.The author puts forward the strategy suitable for protecting and applying the arts and skills of Dabie traditional architectural style to relieve the current hardship ofthe Dabie Mountain residents.
