Vernacular architecture is a kind architecture which can develop sustainably and exist harmonywith nature. It rooted in the native culture, witness to the development of human civilization.However, today under the impact of globalization, the ancient vernacular architecture is difficult toadapt to the times and trouble. On the one hand, because of its own restricted material, structure,spatial form and other factors, it can not meet the new demands of today; on the other hand, due tothe blind novelty of local residents blind, cause modern architecture unrelated to the local culturedevelop rapidly. In the invasion of modern civilization, local culture is going to disappearancerapidly, and the "cultural convergence" phenomenon has intensified.Under the contradiction between tradition and modern, globalization and regional rivalry, newvernacular architecture arises at the historic moment. It not only balances the contradiction betweenthemselves, but also make up for their shortcomings. It not only inherit and carry forward thetraditional region culture, and accept the progress of science and technology.The area of Dabie Mountain located in the border of the Hubei,Henan and Anhui provinceexists a lot of rural with a long history of traditional, they are sending out fragrance of the rich soil,are the result of local culture with virtuosity. However, under the impact of the modernization, thenative houses are trend disappear unstoppablely. Though because of economy, technology and ideas,native culture is difficult to continue in the farmers’ residential, but it can offer local nourish forpublic buildings. So, many new rural construction practice in grow out in Dabie Mountain in recentyears. The author hopes to seek to the inner relation and junctions between the two by analysisingthe traditional vernacular architecture and the neo-vernacular architecture in Dabei Mountain, inducedesign theory and strategy of neo-vernacular architecture, to save the endangered native culture andlet it rebirth in the new building. There are eight chapters in total.The first chapter introduces the background, status, the purpose and significance, researchmethods and writing framework of the research.The second chapter presents an overview of the Dabie Mountain area and the process of thelocal vernacular architecture from development, maturity and crisis, connecting to rebirth. The localtraditional native settlements were studied, and guided the theme from "traditional country" to theexploration of "new country".The third chapter introduce that the new vernacular architecture how to inherit the mountainview of the traditional vernacular architecture and how to respond to the local terrain and climateand other natural conditions from the aspects of the extension of "meaning".The fourth chapter discusses from the aspects of "shape" how new space form, materials andtechnology combined with the traditional space form and material technology and derivative.The fifth chapter analyzes how to transfer the traditional buildings in the new rural constructionof spirit, the emotion and the pursuit of deeper artistic conception from the aspects of "spirit"heritage.The sixth chapter analysis of creative methods of new native vernacular architecture in the areaof Dabie Mountain area combined the practice cases of the author himself from the relationshipbetween architecture and the environment, the use of materials and techniques, e xtraction andtransformation of morphological, cultural connotation embedded in other aspects.The seventh chapter elaborates the design strategy of vernacular architecture in the area ofDabie mountain from the continuation of regionality, expressing time and reflect innovation threeaspects.Chapter8as the conclusion, summarizes the context and content of the entire article.
