With the progress of times, increasing attention is drawn to middle school education as the golden phase of individual physical and mental development as well as the basic for national demand of talents. Therefore, school space design, which serves as the carrier of middle school education, has become an important part of architectural design. This paper studies the corridor space of modern middle school. By understanding the behavior and mental growth characteristics of middle school students and their requirement of middle school environment, making theoretical analysis and case study comparatively, the space feature and function as well as design strategy of corridor space of middle school is studied.Firstly, this paper summarizes the background and meaning of the study the definition of concept, the current status of relevant study in China and abroad, and sketches the study method and frame of this paper. The current development status of middle school education and the behavior and psychological characteristic is analyzed, the deficiency of current school environment and the needs for communication space by middle school students is summarized to illustrate the function of corroder space as second classroom in middle school. Secondly, the classification and space feature of corridor space is systematically summarized, concluding on the feasibility of improving school environment quality by adopting corridor space. Thirdly, the functional meaning and design strategy of corridor space in middle school environment is analyzed and summarized. At last, the application of corridor space in milled school environment is practiced by planning and design work in actual project. Based on environmental psychology and pedagogy and other related theories, this paper gives a detailed review of the disadvantages in current middle school education and the future trend of development, tries to solve the existing problems by the flexible and composite corridor space, to improve students’study and living quality at school and promote the development of teaching space environment at middle school.
