Project schedule management is the most important part of project management. Project management is to ensure that the project schedule to complete the project within the specified range of quality, cost and time. Project schedule planning and control is the core of the project schedule management. Critical path method, PERT and earned value method are used widely in schedule management of power engineering. In the practical application of these methods could eliminate the factors affecting the uncertainty of the project and play an effective role in project schedule management. In the other hand.some flaws are constantly found by application, such as not considering resource constraints; only focus on the management of each process,emphasizing each process is completed on schedule, and not from the project as a whole to consider; schedule plan is too long, the time consumed for project safety and other issues.Firstly, this research status analyze the progress of chain management. Then further analyzed the present situation of our intelligent substation construction project schedule management To point at the long procedures, safe waste of time, considering resource constraints and lack of progress is difficult to control and other issues, progress made use of key-chain management approach to this the progress of the project to optimize the management class. Next, Based on the theory of critical chain-related research, the critical chain method is applied to the theory of intelligent substation project schedule management, critical chain project schedule proposed management model,the specific set of critical chain scheduling module and key chain progress of the control module. In this paper, project duration and buffer calculations, the characteristics of intelligent substation project, using the Delphi method to calculate the size of the project period, the use of root variance method to calculate the size of the buffer,which is simple to use both methods. Then, this article will buffer as a project schedule and control the bridge, the project schedule control, early warning by setting three in the buffer zone, combined with hierarchical project management organization, hierarchical management project schedule risk. In order to project members for more effective management, the paper also for the critical chain project management to develop a schedule assessment and incentive system. Finally, the model in the YuanDong220kV substation projects in intelligent conducted applied research,and achieved good results, a more reasonable schedule, schedule control more effective.This study will be a key chain full schedule management method applied to the progress of the construction project management in smart substation, provides reference for similar projects,and possess good theoretical and practical significance at the same time.
