| In recent years, lots of traditional villages built on agriculture and handicraft have declined rapidly in the wave of urbanization. As the rural population gathering towards cities, traditional villages were either urbanized or abandoned and disappeared. Mentougou, located in western mountain areas of Beijing (west Beijing in short), has many traditional villages. As an objective reflection of Natural geographical environment and material carrier of social productivity development, its evolution of spatial distribution, beyond numerous and complicated representations, is in conformance with the inexorable law of historical development, rather than only an accident.Based on large amount of historical data, this thesis takes the representative evolution of spatial distribution of traditional villages as a starting point, and makes a more complete study about the evolution of traditional villages in Mentougou, to strive to summarize the the main influential factors, the evolution features and spatial distribution regularities. Then, this paper further explores the relationship between the evolution of spatial distribution and natural ecological environment, political system, social culture, technological, economic impact and so on. On this basis, it proposes the internal mechanism of the evolution of spatial distribution of traditional villages in Mentougou. |
