Since the reform and opening, the hotel industry in Beijing area is constantly evolving, the hotel meeting room design with each passing day. Since1997, great changes have taken place in the hotel market, growing income of meeting space, become an important source of hotel revenue.Comprehending the changes of the meeting room design and mastering the new design content can optimize the hotel meeting room design, and raise the renting rate of the meeting room and the economic benefits of the hotels. So it has prime important realistic meanings.Using the methods of literature collection, field research and analysis and summary, thepaper focuses on the analysis and summary of changes in five-star hotel meeting room design in Beijing during different periods, to provide lessons and references for hotel meeting room design.At first, this paper studies an overview of the meeting industry, and introduces the basic needs of hotel meeting space design. Second, the paper does the research on the development history of meeting space at home and abroad, and analyses the guests’ types and behavioral requirements. Meanwhile, the paper introduces the types of hotel rooms,and does contrast and analysis on the changes in the five-star hotel guest roomrequirements in " Classification and Accreditation for Star-rated Tourist Hotels" over the years,Thirdly, the paper analyses the relationship between the hotel conference room and the dining space,guest room space and entertainment space.Forthly,the paper analyses the present situation and early contents of five-star hotel meeting space design in Beijing at length, and find out the changes of hotei meeting space design in recent years, At last, the paper gives meeting room design suggestions which are fit for the demands of five-star hotel meeting room design in " Classification and Accreditation for Star-rated Tourist Hotels" and summarizes the changes of five-star hotel meeting room design in Beijing.
