Experimental study on the airplane impact to safety shell of nuclear power plant isnot only expensive but hard to observe because of too much influencing factors.ABAQUS/Explicit software is using explicit finite element dynamic algorithm andapplied to analysis the instantaneous dynamic process of shock impact and blast.Analysis of loading model and dynamic responses could offer guidance for impactexperiment and structure design.There is a limited reserve of fossil fuels on earth. As a developing country with percapita energy lag far behind the world’s average level, our nation must vigorouslydevelop efficient nuclear energy. Up to now, several severe nuclear accidents make theworld pay great attention to the safety of nuclear facilities. Terrorist activities arekeeping increasing in recent years and the terrorist attacks of September11th2001shocked the world. If the nuclear power facilities is attacked by airplane impact anddestroyed like the world trade center, human society can’t suffer the consequences.Firstly, study the theory of impact dynamics and finite element analysis. Identifythe influence parameter of loading model and dynamic responses, make the finiteelement theory of contact normal force and contact friction force. Build finite elementmodel of the impacting object which has basic geometry. Considering the influence ofstiffness, divide impact object into three groups: elastic, elastic-plastic and fluid-plasticwith different material parameter.Study the traditional theory of simplifying airplane impact, considering thephenomena of the experiment which is airplane impacting target, make sure how tobuild the finite element model of airplane. Then analysis the process of airplaneimpacting rigid target, compare simulated process and the experiment process, contrastthe time-history impact curve of finite analysis and that of simplified airplane impactload.Analyse the process of airplane model impacting nuclear facility. Study the effectof reinforcing steel when under airplane impact. Compare the dynamic response underfinite element airplane model and that under simplified airplane impact load which isrecommended by standard HAD101/04. Build the reinforce concrete finite elementmodel of outer containment of the third generation of nuclear plane. Analyse the dynamic response of barrel part of the outer containment and the influence to theequipment hatch. Then analyse the response of shell part when the key location isipmacted by airplane in landing angle.The analysis show that global response under the action of simplified airplaneimpact loads is less than that under impact of three dimension finite element airplane. Itis recommended that taking finite element analysis of nuclear facilities when underairplane impact. Under impact of the plane in the analysis, the outer containment cankeep integrity of the structure and protect the nuclear reactor.
