The Space Development Of Jimei School Village And The Revelation On The Construct Of College Town

Jimei School Village, which situates in the educational Ddstrict of Xiamen,collecting of various educational and cultural institutions, and merging withresidential and other urban function, with centuries of history development andconstruction, has a certain similarity in the urban space and function with the currentdomestic emerging college town. As a new type of urban construction, kinds ofproblems emerge after it was thrown into use, such as planning, management and useof other aspects. This study, based on the similarity between the two, attempts tostudy the spatial development of Jimei School Village to reflect the construction,proposing some proposals to solve the problem of revelation.The first chapter expounded the background of study and the era value, reviewedthe present situation of Jimei School Village and college town, the similarities and therelationship between it and city; Simultaneously describes the scope, content, method,purpose and technical route. The research most empirical includes three main studies,positivistic research, comparative studies and revelatory recommendations.The second chapter divided it into four stages of development according to theconstruction of Jimei School Village, and analyze each stage from the physical spaceand non-physical space; the physical space analysis includes the of layout functionand road and the feature of space layout, the s non-physical space analysis includeaffect of routine, evolutionary events and revolutionary events on its development.Furthermore, extracting influencial elements of its spatial demarcation, construct themechanism of space demarcation of Jimei School Village.Chapter III, on the basis of the classification about college town, recognizing theentity of the planning construction, posing and management in the first place; searchthe particular reason for phenomenon; Secondly analyzed and summarized the maindomestic existence problems of college town planning and construction.Chapter IV, in accordance with relevant research and theoretical basis, made acomparative analysis between Jimei School Village and college town, including therelationship between the two and urban development, development and constructionmanagement, planning and layout, and other aspects of building and landscape stylecomparison. Found the similarities and differences, based on the superiority of JimeiSchool Village reflect the construction and use of the advantages of college town.On the basis of above analysis, the fifth chapter in view of the main problems onuniversity city construction and use, put forward the optimization on the relationshipbetween the university and city development, innovation interact with city system, theoptimization of land use layout and traffic environment, its cultural connotation andconstruction management to improve illuminating suggestions, in order to improvethe development of college town, to promote its sustainable development.
