In today`s international trade, The maritime transport industry plays a vital role.According to statistics, more than80%of the international trade in the total traffic volumeis done using the maritime transport.The development of shipping service trade has a hugepotential.As the biggest developing country in the world, the second largest economicentity The maritime industry has a good opportunity for the rapid development.Thedevelopment of the maritime transport industry needs a large number of highly qualifiedcrew.The turbine simulator as an essential equipment for the colleges of the navigation hasplayed a decisive role in the aspect of teaching and training of the crew.The turbinesimulator provide the crew with a good chance for the training of practical skills.Thedevelopment of the turbine simulator is an important symbol of the level of the maritimeindustry`s development.In the support of the ship simulation project for ZhenJiangWatercraft College,P.L.A, the paper studied the most important function of the turbinesimulator—the simulation of the ship main engine`s remote control system.In this paper, the object of the simulation is a larger container ship. In order to obtainthe data of the main engine, on the basis of the analysis of the system of the ship mainengine`s remote control system, this paper established the mathematic model of the shipmain engine and its system of the remote control and do the Simulink simulation for themathematic model of the ship main engine.The results of the simulation meet therequirements of the turbine simulator.In order to solve the problems of the system in real-time and data storage, this paperintroduce a method of using the code generation of MATLAB/Simulink to convertMatlab/Simulink model to the C++code in the process of constructing the mathematicalmodel of the marine main engine in the turbine simulator. You can modify the moduleparameters in real time and put the data generated by the simulink into the SQL databasethrough further development for the calling of other parts of the turbine simulator. This cannot only avoid the problem of writing the code, but also meet the demand of real-time inthe turbine simulator and provide the convenience for the development of the turbinesimulator. Compared with the traditional design method, it has the characteristics of a shortdevelopment cycle, low cost and high efficiency.In order to achieve the interface of3d virtual simulation,we established the three dimensional model of the bridge and the work station of the ECR by using the3Dmaxsoftware and collecting the relevant data We also do the model mapping, rendering andbaking work for its realistic.We imported the3D model of the bridge and the ECR into thevirtools. They can be connected with the SQL server2000and have the functions ofstanding by engine, starting, stoping and steering by programming in the virtools script. Wealso set up many faults to meet the demand of the students`training.The turbine simulator using the technology of the virtual reality has the advantagesof simple operation, wide application, low cost and the convenience of maintenance. It hasa wider and wider application in the maritime education and the skills training of the crew.
