Study On Experiential Landscape Design Of Small Scale Space In Urban Waterfront Landscape Area

Now China is in the process of rapidly urbanizing, landscape construction in urbanwaterfront area has become an important part of urban environment construction. Due to theblind development and construction of urban waterfront area for a long time, and the urbanwaterfront area’s vulnerable and sensitive natural ecosystem, the problems of urbanwaterfront environment and landscape creating are exposed increasingly. Although people paymore attention to it, using the small-scale space to create experiential landscape is a newworth exploring subject.The article takes small-scale space experiential landscape in urban waterfront area asthe object of study. It respectively interpreted good examples and investigated therepresentative urban waterfront area landscape in China. From this, the article summarizes thedesign method of using small-scale space to create experiential landscape in urban waterfrontarea. what’s more,it finds the problems in creating waterfront landscape and analyses theroot of problems.Based on landscape aesthetics, environment psychology, Maslow’s hierarchy of needstheory, and consider elements of urban waterfront landscape, the article researches thesmall-scale space experiential landscape theory from three aspects of urban waterfrontlandscape, human’s experience (mode of human’s activity, mode of experience perception,way of experience perception), human’s needs (safety, comfort, attribution, communicativeneeds).In accordance with the problems of creating landscape in urban waterfront area，thearticle researches the design strategies of small-scale space experiential landscape from fouraspects. That is,taking nature as the fountainhead strategy, integration strategy, interactionstrategy and regional transmission strategy.According to analysis of the theory and researches of the design strategies, thearticle emphatically demonstrates the creation of small-scale space experiential landscape.Based on characteristic searching, crowd analysis, activities planning, interaction facilitating.The article takes the interaction between human and landscape as the core. It analysis the experience organization (the function, sequence, path,space and hydrophilic experience),landscape scene design and landscape elements design, the article concludes the designmethods of the small-scale space experiential landscape.Finally, taking Feng River landscape design in Xianyang as a sample for evaluation, thearticle does the empirical researches of small-scale space experiential landscape. It verifies theimportant significance, reference value of using small-scale space to creatingexperiential landscape, and put forward to proposals on landscape design.
