Most of China’s western region located in the plateau, low pressure and temperaturechanges in these area can lead to vehicle power serious decline, such problems as insufficientcooling capacity, economic performance degradation, special climate and natural environmentof plateau is the main obstacle of normal play a military off-road vehicle performance. So ithas very important significance through the military off-road vehicle powertrain matchingdesign research, improving vehicle in the plateau region’s power and economy.Paper depends on the enterprise "plateau5t military off-road vehicle powertrainmatching research" project, systematically analyzed the military off-road vehicle runtimeproblems in plateau region and the factors affecting the power performance and fuel economyof vehicles. The index of performance and fuel economy improved design was put forward,carry out the selection and parameter matching of power and transmission system design work.Using AVL Cruise software vehicle power transmission system model is established, and theaccuracy of the model is verified by road test in plateau area. Performance and fuel economysimulation analysis and the improved prototype in plateau area road test results showed thatthe thesis research military off-road vehicle power transmission system matching to improvethe design has reached the requirement of design index, can fully satisfy the use in plateauarea. Finally according to the characteristics of the plateau region, the structure andperformance of the engine cooling system parameters is determined. To match the enginecooling system,and under the environment of KULI software vehicle thermal managementsystem model is established. The working condition of the limit of the cooling system inplateau area are analyzed in the simulation. Simulation results and the plateau area ofprototype test results show that cooling capacity of the vehicle can satisfy the using demandof the plateau.Through the research papers, solve the insufficient military off-road vehicle dynamicperformance plateau area5ton issue such as difference of overheating, cooling system andthe economy. In plateau area, the improved military off-road vehicle dynamic performance indicators. Climbing ability about25%higher than that of the original,0to60km/h speedthan the original time shortened by about30%, economic performance indicators, fuelconsumption than the original decreases by about18%. Research methods and thesis can alsobe used to improve the existing performance of off-road vehicle plateau provides thebeneficial reference.
