The Recreation And Use Of Windows’ Pattern In Ming Style

Windows of Ming style is the essence of traditional Chinese culture, itcame out in Ming dynasty about600years ago. It had not only the initialfunction of windows, but also the aesthetics and cultural connotation. Allsorts of design expressed what people wanted and reflect the level ofcivilization at that time, the idea of its design contained the uniquecultural requirements of the Chinese nation，containing the wisdom ofour ancestors.The paper puts the windows’ pattern in Ming style as the research object,through the analysis of traditional cultural elements of the windows’pattern in Ming style, shows out the idea of design in this sort oftraditional culture. Then deconstruct it with modern design idea, and tryto redesign it, putting the elements of pop in concept of modern designand cultural requirements into the traditional culture, so that it has bothtraditional cultural base and modern pop feature. At last I try to apply itto the packing, in order to combine the traditional ethnic style withmodern consciousness, and at the same time, to explore whether it canbe popularized in the public.Through these studies, this paper argues that windows’ pattern in Mingstyle have a lot of fit with modern design idea, it can be applied to manyareas after being redesigned. This type of research is not only a useful attempt in the field of design, it is in a sense the exploring andpromoting of traditional Chinese culture.
