Research On Product Design By Using The Ming Dynasty Style

Under the influence of “Globalization”, because of the massive informationtransition throughout the world, every design regardless of the different economy orcontinent has been put onto the platform. In the past few years, by adding traditionalculture characteristics into their designs, Korea and Thailand have stand out to thecrowd and caught many people’s eyes. This factor not only brought economic benefitbut also promote their own culture to the world. As for us, shouldn’t we start reinstatingthe main attributes of “Chinese Design”? By using our5000years of history, all thefamous Philosophies, and artistic style, combining the modern design techniques, weshould be able to come up with modern design products that clearly shows the Chinesestyle in them.In this research, by deliberating and inducting the culture background, artistic style,and philosophy of the Ming Dynasty of China, we were able to gather the primarypicture of this project. This idea becomes very useful when a designer wants to add alittle bit of the Ming Dynasty taste to his/her design. This research is specifically aimingat the representing Ming Dynasty furniture. Its type, form, structure were carefullystudied and analyzed in order to clarify the style. These steps were necessary to backupthe design product which style has been combined with the Ming Dynasty style to themodern design.Next, this research focused on product designs, which are usually placed in acorner of the modern interior of a household-phone, stand lamp and small table, as themain frame to combine with the Ming Dynasty style. The process of brainstorming thedesign, we were able to refine the Ming Dynasty artistic style from literature anddrawings and use it onto the design itself. Finally carries on the reality appraisal, knewthe Ming Dynasty style applies technique of and the benefit in the modern productdesign.
