Recently, the multifunctional fabric has drawn considerable attention, especially flame retardant, water and oil repellent finishing. Among all the synthetic fibers, polyester fabric is the most widely applied one because of its excellent performance. But the drawback of polyester,which is combustible and burning with molten drops down. So the research of the anti-dripping flame retardant finishing of polyester fabric become more and more popular. In this thesis, the fractional step method was used to finish polyester fabric with flame retardant first, then water and oil repellent finish. Finally, the polyester fabric was endowed with durable multiple functions, which is flame retardancy, water and oil repellency.The polyester fabric was finished by flame retardant, which formulated by several flame retardant(DP-1, DP-2, DP-3).In order to filter out the optimal finishing process, the single factor experiments was researched, which are flame retardant concentration, softening agent concentration, curing temperature. On this basis, four factors and three levels orthogonal experiment was carried out for finding the final finishing process. At the same time, the research on durability, tearing strength and handle were carried out when the polyester fabric was finished by flame retardant. The mechanism of flame retardant was studied by TGA-DTG and SEM, which was compared by the untreated fabric and treated fabric.After the flame retardant finishing, polyester fabric was finished by water and oil repellent.In order to filter out the optimal finishing process, the single factor experiments on waterproofing agent concentration, cross-linking agent concentration, curing temperature and curing time were afforded to find the best single factor experimental conditions. Four factors and three levels orthogonal experiments were carried out for finding the final finishing process.According to the result of the experiment, the optimal finishing process was as follows: flame retardant DP-1:380 g/L, flame retardant DP-2:350g/L, flame retardants DP-3:150g/L, softener agent: 20g/L, curing temperature: 160 ℃. Under the optimal finishing conditions, the fabric’s damage length can still be less than the national standard B1 level after 50 times’ washing.Meanwhile, it has little effect on the handle and mechanical properties of fabric. Then the polyester fabric was finished by the water and oil repellent. The optimal formulation was obtained:waterproofing agent: 150 g/L, crosslinking agent:75 g/L, curing temperature :195 ℃, the curing time:1.5min. The level of flame retardant can reach the national standard B1 level after 30 times’ washing, The effectiveness of water repellent can reach 80+ points. And the level of oil repellent can reach grade 4+.
