In the whole process of the mine production, mine hoist has a pivotal position. Mine hoist is one of the most important equipment in mine production, its bear the transport personnel, descent and lift equipment etc. Mine hoist is set machinery, communications,electrical for the integration of complex device, the reliability of the signal has a high impact on the mine safety production. The traditional hoist signal system is the TKD system,it use relay-contactor for signal transmission, the operator used to judge the light signal and control the machine through it.Because of the relay has no memory effect,it often convey wrong signal which cannot map the former signal, often caused accidents by error signal. So there is a meaning of reality to improve the traditional hoist signal system.This paper analyzes the defects of traditional mine hoist signal system, design of a programmable controller as the control core of the new type hoist signal system.New mine hoist signal system adopts the bus control method, it consists of 2 PLC and2 ET200 M distributed remote sites. Two PLC host placed in the winch room, it adopts hardware redundancy control mode in order to enhance the reliability of the whole system. PLC’s main function is receiving signal from wellhead and bottom-hole and store signal, display by LCD, broadcast and others. Voice module uses ISD4004 chip, it can automatically broadcast corresponding voice message after the signal be sent. Distributed remote ET200 M site placed in the wellhead and bottom-hole, the main function is receives and controls signal, send digital signal, displays some relevant information on LED, voice prompt and other functions.This article makes hardware design and software design to the winch room, wellhead and bottom-hole three places. Hardware design includes the design of the PLC redundancy system, profibus-dp network communication system, LCD display circuit design of winch room, LED display circuit design of wellhead and bottom-hole, voltage level matching circuit design, voice circuit design, etc. Software design includes PLC ladder diagram program, LCD display program, LED display program, voice prompt program,and the software of mine hoist signal fault diagnosis.The simulation results show that with the PLC as the core of the signal system has good reliability, it send and acquise control signal correctly, effectively overcomes the signals which cannot be memorized and be locked; LCD and LED can display PLC signal of categories and types correctly, and can show historical signals in turn; voice module cannormally broadcast the corresponding voice messages and make the system more friendly.The modern mine hoist signal system is the development trend of future mine hoist signal system.
