With the development of large scale farms in recent years, the livestock and poultry breeding has become one of leading industries for agricultural economy. The producing concentration of main livestock including pig and cow was improved significantly, and the regional production patterns formed basically. However, the sustainable development of livestock and poultry breeding was seriously restricted by the problems like deteriorating of environmental pollution and increasing of agricultural pollution reduction pressure. The development of livestock and poultry breeding and progressing smoothly of agricultural pollution reduction work has been seriously impeded by the layout of unreasonable livestock and the mode of pollution management. The pollution from livestock has become one of important reasons for restricting agricultural sources reduction.This study was guided by the theory of circular economy, ecology theory and the theory of sustainable development. Meanwhile, on the basis of analysis and summary of domestic and international livestock pollution control technology and combining the conditions of Anhui province, the treatment technique for contaminant of livestock were optimized and the technique for Anhui regions was explored. The main results were shown as below:(1) By the end of 2012, the farm scale of large farms accounted for over 70% o f the whole farms in Anhui province. Thus, large scale farming in our province is given priority to with medium. At present, the pollution of animal waste come mainly from pig-breeding and egg birds breeding. Pig-breeding accounts for a large proportion.(2) The treatment processes in livestock farm wastewater treatment are waste solid-liquid separation+compost/fermentation+organic fertilizer, landspreading mode, lnergy ecological pattern.(3) "Anaerobic fermentation + biogas treatment processes" and "natural composting + returning field processes" can be used to treat livestock contaminant for small scale farms.(4) The treatment modes of "Solid-liquid separation + composting + oxidation pond" and "Anaerobic fermentation + biogas" can be used to treat livestock contaminant for medium scale farms.(5) The treatment processes of "Solid-liquid separation + aerobic composting + anaerobic treatment + aerobic treatment" and "Mixed anaerobic fermentation + biogas" can be used to treat livestock contaminant for big scale farms.(6) Owing to the amount of pollutants was larger than others for oversize scale farms, the harmless and resource of containment was especially important. "Energy environmental protection technology" can be used in combination with "Energy ecological technology" for oversize scale farms.
