Study On Classification And Treatment Of Municipal Solid Waste

In recent years, with the continuous development of the society and economy, and the unceasingly acceleration of urbanization, the amount of process to dispose the municipal waste is continuously rising. Waste disposal has become one of the most important issues during the urban development. To face the challenges of municipal waste, the country and local governments have proposed a series of plans and measures. However, the implementation of these plans and measures need the comprehensive coordination of the government, public and institutional organizations, and the integrated and systematic management of the municipal waste.Since March2011, Yangpu District, Shanghai has being carried out the household waste reduction, the classification of communities and the establishment of the residential area demonstration. This article takes the household waste classification and disposal processes of Yangpu District as example, takes local residential waste as investigation object, and uses the successful experiences of urban residential waste disposal and classification of the foreign country as reference, analyzes the policies and operations of the urban household waste in four categorizations which include waste classification, waste collection, disposal of organic and toxic waste, and the resource-waste disposal, further explores the systematic mode of municipal waste classification and processing, and provides a useful reference to improve the operations and processes of the municipal waste disposal. Meanwhile, this article tries to offer suggestions and recommendations on the governmental policy making, orientation and direction of the municipal waste disposal and classification.
