Economic Effects Of The Use Of Foreign Direct Investment In Mongolia

In order to attract foreign investment, in1990the Mongolian governmentimplemented policies preferential to this goal. The Mongolian government largelydepended on the mining industry to pursue the goal of revitalizing the economy. Sincethe implementation of this policy, the Mongolian economy has seen an annual increasein foreign direct investment in its mining industry, with a corresponding increase inresource and livestock value. Data from2009to2001show a dramatic increase inforeign investment and economic growth in the Mongolia. In recent years, the rate ofeconomic growth in Mongolia is among the fastest in the world. This article provides anew perspective on economic growth in Mongolia, taking into account the globaleconomic situation and analyzing the effects of direct foreign investment in theMongolian economy. Finally, the article provides policy suggestions for promotingdirect foreign investment in the Mongolian economy.
