Foreign Direct Investment In The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Economic Growth Empirical Analysis

With the implementation of the Reform-and-Opening-up Policy, the AutonomousRegion of Inner Mongolia ("ARIM") has made great achievements in attracting andutilizing foreign direct investments. Especially since the Party Central Committee putforward the strategy of "Developing the West", the departments concerned haveinitiated many supportive policies to encourage people to cast the foreign investmentsinto the West for the purpose of developing the economy there. ARIM has made greatprogress in attracting and utilizing foreign investment in order to answering the call ofthe strategy.This thesis intends to build some econometrical models through quantitativeanalysis according to the statistical figures of foreign direct investments and grossregional product of Inner Mongolia from 1993 to 2003. In addition, assisted by theSPSS software, it aims to reveal the relationship between the foreign directinvestments and the gross regional product of Inner Mongolia and the contributions offoreign direct investments made to the development of local economy. Based on theabove, this thesis also focuses on analyzing the characteristics and advantages ofInner Mongolia and then to put forward some proposals on making furtherimprovement in attracting foreign direct investments.
