Project Management Research For Design Of C Company’s Offshore Living Quarter

The21st century will be the century of marine; the development of marine resourcesrequires a large number of offshore equipments to be built.Compared with traditional shipbuilding industry, offshore equipments havecharacteristics of high added value, high profits and technology-intensive. In face of this rareopportunity, the backbone of China’s shipyards commences to transform to construction ofthe marine products. As marine products are with high technology, long design period, andmany participants, the project management is better to be adopted. Design projectmanagement is by the design department for construction project design phase of the workitself, using project management knowledge to design organizational structure, team building,improve the planning and tracking technology, so as to protect and control the designschedule. Design project management for China’s shipbuilding enterprises, however, is stillrelatively new, and very little can draw lessons from the experience. Such problems as lowefficiency, severe design plan tardiness are so popular. How to make use of existingresources, guarantee the design schedule smoothly is a design problem to be solved inproject management. A living quarter built by C company for Brazil owner is a typicaloffshore product. To research the management mode of the design of the living area is thebest way to solve the problem.The purpose of this paper is to explore the key project management mode of offshoreproduct to have the design schedule smoothly improved. The main content of this article isdivided into the following three aspects:The first aspect, to summarize the theory of project management, to compare relatedtheory of scholars home and aboard.The second aspect, according to the seriously tardiness of living quarters built by Ccompany, to discuss in detail the organizational structure, team management, plan makingand tracking so as to come up with the existing problems, to find the reason with the moderntheory and practice.The third aspect, combined with the enterprise development strategy of design projectmanagement, to present an effective project design management model.
