In2013, China’s mechanical and electrical products export amount ranks1st in the world, and China has been the world’s largest mechanical and electronic products trading nation for five years. As the key products which pull the growth of China’s goods exports, mechanical and electrical products exports’proportion of total exports is rising. However, global economic grows slowly under the influence of global financial crisis in2008and European sovereign debt crisis. Demand shrinking of export markets in Europe and United States makes the export growth of mechanical and electrical products fell sharply, which also exposed the problem of market concentration. Besides, the mechanical and electrical enterprises in China are also face with international demand shrinking, trade friction and comprehensive costs rising problems, etc. Comprehensive considering, the mechanical and electrical products trade must fully tap the existing export market potential, develop new markets, change traditional ideas, and looking for a new strategy and development path to keep the sustainable development.This paper uses a method in combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis, empirical analysis and normative analysis. First, it describes the overall situation of the mechanical and electrical products export, including commodity classification and market structure, etc., and finds out problems of export market development, such as the expansion in developed countries (regions) market is not balanced, in emerging markets is not enough, management and financing difficulties in enterprises, product innovation is not enough, etc. To solve these problems, this paper analyzes mainly from product and market two dimensions. On Product dimensions, this paper analyzes the international competitiveness and dual margins of China’s mechanical and electrical products export, which reflects the ability of supply. On market dimensions, it mainly reveals the characteristics of key export markets, restriction factors which restrict export market development. It also measuring the market potential of main trading partners.In combination with the results of analysis, this article make suggestions mainly from export strategy, supporting services and competitiveness three aspects. This paper argues that the future export of mechanical and electrical products should continue implementing the export market diversification policy, stabilize market in developed countries and at the same time focus on the development of emerging markets. Set clear market expansion strategy and pay attention to the comprehensive service support, including policy support, financial support and industry association support, etc. Finally it also need to improve the quality of export enterprise and their products, and improve the whole competition strength of export enterprises, increase innovation support of product, etc.
