| As the largest export product group in China,the export volume of mechanical and electrical products has occupied half of China’s exports since 2004,and has become an important engine for China’s export growth and even economic growth.With the introduction and deepening of the “Belt and Road Initiative” initiative,the urgent need for the development of the “Belt and Road” countries has undoubtedly created a huge demand for the product group with the basic development needs and the “double requirements” for improving the technology level.According to relevant data,in 2017,China exported 295.74 billion US dollars of mechanical and electrical products to the “Belt and Road” countries,accounting for 38.2% of China’s exports to the “Belt and Road” countries,an increase of 24.9% compared with 2016;importing mechanical and electrical products from the “Belt and Road” countries.US$219.8 billion,accounting for 33% of China’s imports from the “Belt and Road” countries,an increase of 26% over 2016;imports and exports have increased significantly from the previous year,and it is a new source of China’s exports of mechanical and electrical products.Today,with the slow recovery of the world economy and the protection of trade,how to continue to maintain and develop the superior position of China’s mechanical and electrical products in the "Belt and Road" countries and ensure the normal growth of China’s exports has become an urgent problem to be solved.The paper conducts statistical analysis and empirical research on the mechanical and electrical products exported from China to the “Belt and Road” countries from the total and large product levels.The main contents are as follows:Firstly,the paper uses the United Nations Trade Statistics Database to analyze the export statistics of China’s mechanical and electrical products of the “Belt and Road” countries in 2003-2017.It is found that,regardless of the total or large-scale product level,China’s exports of mechanical and electrical products still rely on key products(mechanical and Equipment,electrical and electronic products),specific regions(Southeast Asia,West Asia and North Africa)and imbalanced export structure.Secondly,using the stochastic frontal gravity model to empirically study the influencing factors,efficiency and potential of China’s mechanical and electrical products export “One Belt,One Road” trade: common language,free trade agreement,importing government efficiency,logistics performance level have significant exports to China’s mechanical and electrical products.The impact of the export efficiency and the actual trade value calculated based on empirical research found that China’s export trade efficiency of the “Belt and Road” countries is generally low,and the export trade potential is relatively large;among them,machinery and equipment,electrical appliances and The export of electronic products is inefficient and has huge export potential.Finally,according to the above research results,China should strengthen the negotiations with the "One Belt,One Road" countries free trade agreement negotiations,infrastructure cooperation exchanges,cultural exchanges,and adjustment of China’s mechanical and electrical products export structure,in order to promote the normal growth of China’s mechanical and electrical products exports. |
