Study On The Development Of River-sea-through Transportation In Ningbo-Zhoushan Port

River-sea-through transportation is one of the ways of river-sea transportation. It is aneconomical and quick transportation form to transport cargo by using the link of sea andriver transportations. River-sea-through transportation is an environmental transportationmode that has the advantages of low cost, low energy consumption and light pollution.Ningbo-Zhoushan port lies in the “T” place between Yangtze River and eastern coastaleconomic zone. Ningbo-Zhoushan port integration is the strategic focus of marineeconomy in Zhejiang. River-sea-through transportation in Ningbo-Zhoushan port isbeneficial to improve the collecting and dispatching system and develop the marineeconomy. But now Ningbo-Zhoushan port is still in the status of traditional logistics, anddoesn’t achieve the function of the third generation port. Low grade of inland waterways，few specialized terminals and scattered harbor areas are the main problems.This paper selects Ningbo-Zhoushan port as the research object. It introduces thetheories and the successful cases in and abroad, and proposes some measures of thedevelopment of river-sea-through transportation in Ningbo-Zhoushan port by analyzing thecurrent situations and problems of the development of river-sea-through transportation inNingbo-Zhoushan port.The main structure of the paper is as the followings. The first part is the currentsituations and problems of the development of river-sea-through transportation inNingbo-Zhoushan port. The second part is the strategic significance of the development ofriver-sea-through transportation in Ningbo-Zhoushan port and the analysis of benefit ofriver-sea-through transportation. The third part is the countermeasures of the developmentof river-sea-through transportation in Ningbo-Zhoushan port.
