Research On Healthy Development Of Urbanization In Chongqing

Urbanization is an important symbol of the economic, social, cultural, scientific and technological level of a country or region. The level of urbanization directly affects all the aspects of social development. Urbanization has become an commonly concerned issue to all the counties of the world. Urbanization has strategic significance to the health and steady development of economy, and to improve the rational and efficient use of resources, and to promote the sustainable development between economy, resource and environment. As the national central city of china and the only Municipality in the west, Chongqing has great importance to western development and even to the national development, especially in promoting the economic and social development of the west part of China and the upper reaches of Yangtze River. At present situation, Chongqing is in the critical period of the accelerating the development of western China, while some problems also arisen in that process, which has become the bottleneck to the development of the economy of Chongqing Municipality. Research on the model of the urbanization of Chongqing Municipality in a sustainable way is in line with the plan of the state and Chongqing Municipality on urbanization. It also provides supports for the Chongqing Municipality in making policy on urbanization and also is important reference to the similar region for health development in the process of urbanization.Based on systematic theory and healthy urbanization theory, this thesis takes Chongqing Municipality as the research target. With the guidance of related theory of urbanization and GIS technology and from the perspectives of time and space, this thesis makes an analysis on the population, economy, society and the situation of the urbanization of Chongqing Municipality. Through establishing composite coupling model of population-economy--social-space urbanization, the situation of the urbanization of Chongqing Municipality was evaluated, and the suggestion on the problems arisen in the urbanization process of Chongqing Municipality was provided. The research results show that:(1) Healthy urbanization is evolved from the process of evaluation giant system of urbanization in the dimensions of time and space. It is kind of state meeting the needs of social development in a sustainable way, showing as the coordinate development between the four sub-system of urbanization:population urbanization, economy urbanization, land urbanization and social urbanization.(2) From2001to2012, the comprehensive urbanization of Chongqing Municipality has greatly speeded up and enters the period of rapid development. The urbanization of population, economy, society and space has respectively improved, while different in levels. The level of all counties has improved and the urbanization of Chongqing Municipality is in a health situation. However, the level of urbanization varies from county to county.(3) The health level of the urbanization of Chongqing Municipality has been greatly improved from2001to2012, with an improvement from the middle level of unhealthy to the level of mild unhealthy. However, the urbanization of Chongqing Municipality is in a relatively low level in the whole, and takes unhealthy development as its main model, showing as special difference in the level of healthy urbanization. The level of urbanization of the urban area, with relatively developed economy and good social infrastructure, is higher than other regions with relatively backward economy and bad infrastructure.(4) During2001to2012, the urbanization of Chongqing Municipality has obvious features of spatial concentration, showing as high concentration and low concentration. The one hour economic circle of Chongqing Municipality is in the state of high concentration, while the wings of is in the state of low concentration.(5) The un-synchronized development of the four sub-urbanization systems has limited the healthy development of the urbanization of Chongqing Municipality. For improving the healthy development of the urbanization, Chongqing Municipality should strengthen the ration force of the central urban area; support the development of middle and small cities, and to optimize urban architecture. At the same time, the industrial structure should be adjusted to optimize the industrial layout. Besides, it is necessary to gradually break out the barriers to inter-regional migration, to improve the social security system, to coordinate the construction of infrastructure, to use land economically and intensively, and to improve the land use efficiency.
