For the current agriculture, a highly fragmented production mode of the landscattered is linked with stable food and family subsistence, which is difficult toachieve in further development of rural areas and farmers. Only by improvingagricultural productivity, the release of the rural population bonus and increasingefficiency unit of arable land, rural development will have an incentive. For currentagricultural development, we must stabilize the current rural land contract relationsover the long term, uphold and improve the most stringent farmland protection system,give farmers the right to possess, use, income, transfer the original contract for theland and the right to operate mortgage contract, hypothec. Family farms comply withagriculture, rural development requirements of agriculture and rural, improveagricultural labor productivity; more efficiently and economically exploit limited landresources.Under the precondition of land collectively owned, the family farm is adevelopment model which realizes a new agriculture that is large-scale modern andagricultural enterprise development. In the process, arable land is owned by farmingexperts through the land circulation. The family farm is the inheritance of thehousehold contract responsibility system and the development of the householdcontract responsibility system and the perfection of the household contractresponsibility system. So the system has continuity, and accords with the reality ofmany areas that the number of people is much higher than the number of arable land.From all over the country, comparing the family farm with the ranch of WesternEurope, America and other countries, privatization is a significant difference. In theshort term, our small family farm and intensive cultivation characteristics will nothave a fundamental change. In terms of organization form, family farm is still veryappropriate, which has larger improvement and development compared with highlyuniform cultivation mode currently, and absorbs the advantage of the small-scalepeasant economy and modern agriculture effectively. But some of the outstandingproblems which are appeared in the process of practice have hindered the development of the family farm. So, a reasonable and scientific family farmdevelopment model became the problem which should pay special attention to crackof party committees and governments.This paper introduces the concepts and theories related to family farms, summed upthe main mode of family farms; applies the method of combining theory and practiceto investigate of the core area of food production Wei Qiu Township Yanjin County;explores the advanced experience and the typical approach of family farms; analyzesoutstanding problems existing in the construction process and make suggestions tofurther promote the benefits of development to the vast number of family farms inrural areas and farmers as soon as possible.
