The Analysis Of Advantages And Disadvantages Of China’s FDI In Latin Ameirca

With the constant deepening and development of economic globalization,China’s foreign direct investment is also showing a rapid development momentum, inaddition to the traditional European and American markets, China’s FDI in LatinAmerica has also developed very quickly. Currently Latin America is China’s secondlargest investment destination of developing countries.This paper first discusses the current situation of China’s direct investment in LatinAmerica, and the investment presents following characters: investment is winding up;Investment industries concentrate; Investment areas centralize; the subject ofinvestment is single. On the basis of analysis of investment’s present situation, thepaper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of direct investment in LatinAmerica from the perspective of both China and Latin America: Latin America’sadvantages are relatively stable political environment, growing economy and richnatural resources, and the disadvantages are weak infrastructure, inefficientgovernment working and the difference of culture between Latin America and China.China has the advantages of relatively abundant capital, brisk resource demand, goodpolitical and economic foundation, the Chinese government’s supports, and thedisadvantages are the unreasonable investment main body and irrational investmentstructure, localization of low degree, the lack of relevant investment professionaltalents, weak risk consciousness and poor image. Finally the paper puts forward thesuggestions from the perspective of government and enterprise: government shouldencourage small and medium-sized enterprises to invest in Latin America; Guide andsupport investment in relative departments, improve the investment structure;Strengthen the service of investment in Latin America; Strengthen multi-level culturalexchange; Set up China’s good image; Strengthen the supervision of the investment,improve the early warning mechanism. Enterprises should pay more attention torelevant investment talents; Increase the localization degree; attach great importanceto market research and do a good job in risk prevention; Set up a good enterpriseimage. Through the analysis of this paper, although China has some disadvantages in theinvestment Latin America and these disadvantages will affect the investment in a longtime, but Latin America as emerging economy has great economic potential, and itsinvestment environment is keeping improving, it is necessary for us to study China’sFDI in Latin America, and put forward corresponding suggestions to promote itshealthy and rapid development.
