| The energy efficiency is an important issue and has gradually become an importantfactor affecting the quality of national economic and social development of a country’seconomic development. In China, with the rapid expansion of the scale of economicdevelopment, the role of energy constraints continue to highlight how to ensure thecoordination of economic construction and energy consumption, to maintain the sustainabledevelopment of the national economy as a whole, has become a very important issue beforeus. After the reform and opening up, China has achieved a30years rapid development andhas become the world’s second largest energy consumer. The high input and high consumptionto promote the economic development, which is the extensive economic model, has leaded theChinese economic into an unsustainable situation. Accelerate the transformation of economicdevelopment, improve the efficiency of energy use is the only way to solve the serious energyshortage and environmental pollution problems. How to improve energy efficiency, manyacademic researches are focus on this area, they mainly concerning the adjustment ofindustrial structure and technological innovation. How to assess the role of the two factors inimproving the energy efficiency, the academic has different views, and some believe that theprogress of technological innovation to improve energy efficiency, and some think that theadjustment of industrial structure from the perspective of the long-term development solve theenergy problem. Of course, there are many scholars who combine these two factors to worktogether.This article along for the ideas of other scholars, mainly use the2000to2011economicdata of Guangdong Province, has carried on the related real diagnosis analysis on GuangdongProvince’s industrial structure and the energy efficiency relational question using theLaspeyres factor resolution. Guangdong Province is the frontier of China’s reform andopening up. Its level of economic development in the country is the forefront of the processand pattern of economic development in the country. This paper first describes the researchbackground of industrial structure and energy efficiency’s relationship and a simple overviewof related research status at home and abroad. Second, the theoretical basis for research wereintroduced, and further information on the research methods and mathematical models used inthis paper. Then, the economic data change in energy intensity is described by the structureshare and efficiency share of these two factors, industrial structure and technological progresson energy efficiency, and further carries on the analysis on the influence technologyadvancement factor to the energy efficiency influence. Finally, based on the above analysis conclusions of the study, there are some advice for Guangdong Province in the future courseof economic development is how to improve energy efficiency, accelerate the transformationof economic development, and make recommendations to ensure the steady development ofthe economy. |
