Energy is the important basic resources of the human survival,the economic development and the social progress.It is also the vital strategic materials which related to the national economy and security.However,nowadays problems of energy has become one of the negative impacts on China's economic and social sustainable development.While the industrial production was a strong force of supporting national economy development in the current stage of development in China,it will far more likely lead to the energy problems,because the explosion of industry totally depended on large resource consumption from the founding of new China,this extensive growth resulted in many development problems such as the serious pollution,the low energy efficiency and the quick increasing of energy demand.Many research show that the adjustment of industrial structure exerts positive effects on reducing energy consumption and improving energy intensity,it is considered as one of the methods which could realize the sustainable development of industry.This article will research the impact of industrial structure change on industrial energy intensity.First of all,this article summarized the domestic and foreign research of the influence factors of energy intensity,the changing patterns of industrial structure and its measurement indicators,also the influence of industrial structure on energy intensity.Secondly,the article analyzed the industrial development from different industries,the industrial structure change in different regions and the industrial energy intensity change in different industries and regions based on the measurement of samples from 2007 to 2016 in 30 provinces and cities in China.Thirdly,the article introduced the theory of energy efficiency and industrial structure.Based on the theory,the article showed the function mechanism that how rationalization of industrial structure and upgrading of industrial structure influence industrial energy intensity.Finally,the article made an econometric model with the panel data of the sample period to make the test of hypothesis,the rationalization and upgrading of industrial structure may have positive influence on industrial energy intensity,the results showed that:(1)The rationalization and upgrading of industrial structure in China could significantly promote the decline of industrial energy intensity;(2)Reducing the proportion of high energy consumption industries is one of the factor that rationalization of industrial structure decrease the industrial energy intensity by.Promoting the technological innovation is one of the factor that upgrading of industrial structure promotes the decline of industrial energy intensity by.(3)The degree of rationalization of industrial structure has a significant impact on energy intensity in the central and western regions,while the impact of the decline in energy intensity caused by the upgrading of industrial structure mainly shows in the eastern region.The innovations of this paper are as follows: Firstly,previous studies on the influencing factors of energy intensity structure were mostly analyzed from the perspective of tertiary industry structure.This article from the perspective of industrial structure change,the industrial structure rationalization and height as the breakthrough point,combined with theoretical and empirical analysis of the industrial structure change influence on the industrial energy intensity,and fully consider different economic area industrial structure change influence on the industrial energy intensity difference,enrich the structure factors influence the study of the energy intensity.Secondly,on the basis of existing research,this paper summarizes the action path of rationalization and intensification of industrial structure on energy intensity,and carries out empirical test by introducing intermediary effect model.It not only deepens the understanding of the effect of industrial structure change on energy intensity,but also provides some support for empirical results,which is more conducive to the interpretation and solution of practical problems.
