This research mainly focuses on the consumption structure of chinese rural residents, by the theory of consumption economic and quantitative methods, based on the existing research results at home and abroad, to make qualitative and quantitative analysis about current situation, characteristics and changing trend of consumption structure of rural residents in china. Based on this, find out the factors which affect the optimization of the consumption structure of rural residents in china, and puts forward the policy recommendations to optimize and upgrade the consumption structure of rural residents.This research can be devided into four parts.Firstly, the relative theories about rural residents’consumption are introduced, which is the background of the issues. Secondly, by analysizing the overall trend of Chinese rural resident consumption level periodically and making empirical analysis on the change of consumption of rural residents in china from the aspects of APC、EC、the quality of life and health, to Summarize the present situation, changing characteristics, changing trend of The consumption structure of rural residents. Thirdly, based on the model of ELES, making time series data analysis from1990to2010and cross-sectional data analysis2010of Consumption expenditure structure of urban and rural residents, to analysize the changing trend and characteristics of residents consumption. Finally, according to the results of analysis above,puts forward the policy recommendations of improving the rural residents living consumption level and promoting consumption structure upgrade. The result and policy are coming from the analysizing of data, they are pertinence.
