Study On Industrial Cluster Competitiveness Of Hunan Agriculture Industry

Industrial clusters is a global economic phenomenon, which has been the research focus of the industrial economics, economic geography, institutional economics and other disciplines and the important consideration for government to establish the industrial policies. However, when it comes to Hunan Agricultural industry cluster, there are still a series of problems due to starting later and developing slowing. Hence, it will be of great significance for the development of the agricultural industry cluster and the comprehensive economy of Hunan Province to find the competition orientation of Hunan agricultural industry cluster and develop an approach to enhancing its competitiveness.Firstly, the existing researches on agricultural industry cluster were summarized; the concept and characteristics of industrial clusters were introduced; the basic theory of industrial clusters formation and industrial clusters competitiveness were reviewed. Moreover, the general situation, characteristics, formation model and main advantages of agricultural industry clusters in Hunan Province were studied.Then, great emphasis were put on the construction of Hunan agricultural industry cluster competitiveness evaluation index system. Based on the model of GEM, the evaluation index system was consisted of6first grade indicators and23second grade indicators. The first grade indicators were composed of resources, facilities, suppliers, strategy, market and government. Next, according to the importance of evaluating indexes and the data of questionnaire, the subjective weights were determined by using AHP method. So Hunan agricultural industry cluster competitiveness evaluation index system was established.At last, Hunan agricultural industry cluster competitiveness evaluation index system established above was applied to evaluate the competitiveness of Hunan Linxiang Yanglousi bamboo industry Cluster. The results indicated that (1)the level of competitiveness of Hunan Linxiang Yanglousi bamboo industry Cluster was higher than that of the national average;(2)the resources factor and the market factor significantly affected the competitiveness of Hunan Linxiang Yanglousi bamboo industry Cluster. Then with the conclusion of the research, some suggestions were put forward to enhance the competitiveness of Hunan Linxiang Yanglousi bamboo industry Cluster.
