BRICS is made up of five Emerging economies:China, India, Brazil, Russia and South Africa, which play important role in the development of world economy. The fifth meeting of the leaders of the BRICS will be held in Durban, South Africa."BRICS " is becoming the focus of the whole world in the recent years. International trade, especially trade in goods, is important to economic development, however, most of scholars pay more attention to studying other subjects, such as:population expansion, international political and economic relations, environment, energy and service trade competitiveness, and researches on the characteristics of trade in goods is very little. This paper tries to make a comparison about the different characteristics among BRICS. Then analysis the economic relationships among "BRICS", intending to explore the background and conditions of building the FTA.Firstly, this paper analysis the characteristics of trade in goods of BRICS in the view of the scale, growth, structure and main trade partners and so on. Next, tries to study the similarities and differences of the external trade of BRICS. At last, analysis the economic relationships among "BRICS" using several trade indexes such as Revealed Comparative Advantage, Spearman Coefficients and Trade Complementarity Index.The main idea includes:Firstly, the characteristics of trade in goods is different from different countries. Secondly,"BRICS" member countries are different in resource endowment and comparative advantage. |
