Along with the integration of the tobacco industry company,competition between the tobacco companies is becoming fiercer; the emphasis has focused on the competiton of the business core capacity for the quality of management,and introduce more advanced quality management concepts and methods,and spread the practical methods of improving the quality. Cigarettes as a special food is decided by its sensory quality, and the Standard Deviation of cigarette weight is a important factor in the quality of cigarettes. The reasch which is used of Six Sigma Management in reductiong the Standard Deviation of cigarette weight,indicates effective.This paper briefly introduces the status of the Standard Deviation of cigarette weight and the background knowledge of the project, Aiming at the undulates problem,the six sigma quality management concepts and methods are introduced firstly,combining with the cigarette manufacturing process data and using Minitab software which has powerful statiscal data analysis and calculation function,a control chart is drawn,the ananlysis of the stability in the Standard Deviation of cigarette weigh is put forward.The quality improvement measures are improved for the cigarette manufacturing capacity and the quality.
