Town and rural cigarette market of Lengshuijiang city was regarded as object,and cigarette sales,types of operation,construction and maintenance of marketing network for cigarette,distribution of cigarette and monopolization market were investigated.The main results were as follows:1.Lengshuijiang city administers six towns,six counties and four urban neighborhood offices.There are 352.5 thousand permanent residents and above one million floating population per year.It is estimated that the number of smoking-persons are above 200 thousand,that is to say,it is a bigger cigarette market.2.The sales volume of cigarette in Lengshuijiang city reached to 10000 big boxes in 2003,and then it was increased by 6%~8%per year.It reached to 13019 big boxes in 2007, and it is estimated to reach to 15000 big boxes in 2008.In the whole sales volume of cigarette,share of brands of Hunan province was about 75%,that of brands of others provinces was about 25%,and that of overseas brands was below 1%.3.The types of operation of cigrette retail in Lengshuijiang city could be partitioned to seven types,food and cargo store,convenient store,super market,department store, cigarettte-wine store,service trade of entertainment and the others.In order to insure the stabilization and development in phase of cigarette market,many measures were adoptted, such as classified administration by code,differential service and assessment in percent of profit,composition degree and honesty and credit.4.Construction of cigarette marketing network of Lengshuijiang city,including 13 routines and 1189 retail sites,had been finished,and the agreements between company with clients had been signed.At the same time,operation training to client in distribution network was conducted and the brand,price and display mode of merchandise were standardized.The percent of electronic settlement had reached to 86%,and the administration for cigarette distribution by network had really realized.5.In construction of cigarette marketing network,distribution system of cigarette, working responsibility and working flow for personnel of different layers had been established,which insured the accommodation of cigarette to clients in network. 6.In construction of cigarette marketing network,administration for cigarette monopolization market had been intensified and special organization had been come into existence.Approval,issuance and administration of cigarette retail licence,market check and market administration became to more normative,which maintained the healthy development of cigarette monopolization market.
