It is undoubted that top management team (TMT) is very important for businessoperation and development. One top management team can make the enterprise renewenergy which is on the verge of death, and meanwhile it may also lead the corporatefrom thriving to declining. Thereafter, the point is to build a good top management team,under whose leadership the corporate can maintain competitiveness durably.One very key issue relative to top management team is power distribution in team.Although power is a major topic in leadership research, it is avoided to talk in the TMToperation and under Chinese culture. So it has not been studied deeply yet, which is thereason why this study employed case study.This thesis firstly reviewed related researches and theories on top managementteam, team faultline and power distribution, then studied two top management teamcases which the author experienced and recorded. Through extracting and coding thecrucial events in the contents and combining the above-mentioned theories, it clarifiedthe relationship among involved variables. Finally it obtained a model framework toanalyze the relation between power distribution and team outcomes in top managementteam.Theoretically, the results from the thesis can enrich top management team theory,especially the research on team faultline and power distribution. It also has someimplications for selecting top management team member, building good group normand institutions.
