As the process of Chinese urbanization accelerates, land use status are extremelydifferent and variable in the city in time domain and in space. Owing to contradiction hasbeen increasingly obvious between limited supply of urban land and rigid demand ofconstruction land, urban land expand continually toward urban-rural ecotone, which makesthe activities of land use extremely fierce and active in the rural-urban fringe. Spread processof land use change in the urban-rural fringe is systematic, dynamic and very complicated.Because of special geographical position, further study and discussion on the drivingmechanism of land-use change has important significance for the function of the urbanizationand coordinating urban-rural integration development. This paper analyzes the driving mechanism of land-use change combined with thepolicies and theories on the base of industrialization and urbanization as the times background.Taking Heping township as an example, it chooses main factors from a number of drivingfactors by collected datas and means of mathematical model, and then draw the conclusion. The main research contents consists of the following aspects:(1)It summarizes the scope definition, research methods and driving forces on therural-urban fringe from the experts and scholars both at home and abroad, which providestheoretical support for further research.(2)It analyzes land use change about the quantity and structure from2002to2008inHeping township.(3)It conducts empirical researchby combining quantitative analysis with qualitativeanalysis. The qualitative analysis describe the procedure of land use change in Hepingtownship from perspective of the policies and theories. The quantitative analysis explains thechange of cultivated land use and construction land use by choosing typical driving factors.(4)According to status of land use in Heping township, it makes reasonable suggestionsfor urban-rural integration development. The result indicates that the driving mechanism of the land-use change is thecomprehensive result of external shocks interacted with the internal impetus in Hepingtownship. The process of the land expansion could be divided into three stages, includingexternal shocking stage, the conducting and responding stage and internal impetus stage. Theratio of the secondary industry and the tertiary industry in GDP and the amount ofnon-agricultural population are the mian driving forces of the land-use change. By conductingland use change of Heping township as typical area, it will provide beneficial supplement for theoretical research on land use change of the rural-urban fringe. |
