Land resource is one of the major resources in human life and the material base of the social development. Land use towards land resources is the motive and directional reconstruct activity which is result of interaction, inter-influence and development between human activities and nature resources through out the entire history of human society development. In the past 30 years since the opening strategy, land use of Urban fringe areas become the most contradictory area in land development and land resources protection while the accelerating of urbanization and the constant growth of Xi'an city scale.This paper take Yanta district Xi'an as research area, analysed the land use and its changes in recent years. Founded the feature of the Yanta district land use dynamic change though its change on quantity, rate, structure in land use and the change of difference between different area in land use. Analysis the effective factors upon the land conservation of Yanta district according to social economy condition and Multi-garden in one area industrial configuration. Reveal the trend of land conservation and evaluate the conservation through digitalization and calculation with GIS software. This paper intents to provide scientific basis for land use and economy development strategy of Yanta district and, to provide reference for other urban fringe areas in the course of Xi'an development.Major conclusions:(1) The feature of land use in Yanta district is the sever reduce of farm plow while sever increase of industrial/mind land and, the percentage and structure of the changes are similar. The yearly land conservation is approximately 3.24% which is listed first in nine districts.(2) Noted that features like the growth of population, the increase of third industry and the population of collage student had the most influence toward farm plow conservation though the analysis of its driving forces such as population growth and urbanization, economy development, political strategy influence and technology improvements, and analysis the relevance between these factors with SPSS software and regression analysis, the result is that the population and the total profit of high-tech zones and the tertiary industry the three indicators of change for the biggest contribution of cultivated land.(3) Yanta district needs to change its farm plow to construct land conservation, increase the intensity of the land use and, combine development and protection, coordinate the contradiction between human and land, continue the reconstruction of downtown village to ensure that Yanta district could maintain a sustainable development between land resources use and social economy.
