A Construction Group is a large state-owned construction enterprise.Over the past decade, the group achieves outstanding performance with therevenue of7billion CNY in2012. Current business scope has extensivecoverage of rail transit construction, underground space development,large-scale construction of bridges and tunnels, high-rise construction,municipal engineering and other fields.However, due to the increasingly more complex external environmentand the rapid expansion of the scale of the company, A Construction Groupmust assess the situation accurately, judge the trends of construction industryand conduct scientific assessment of status of the group, clarify the strategicthinking and business development direction, and effectively strengtheninternal management and control to achieve sustainable and healthydevelopment. Therefore, according to the methodology from asking to analyzing andsolving, the thesis utilizes strategic management theories and tools to analyzethe internal and external environment and resources and capacity of AConstruction Group to clarify its development strategy.This thesis could be divided into five chapters. The first chapter is anintroduction succinctly describes the research background, researchobjectives and research framework. The second chapter analyzes the externalenvironment consisted of macro-environment, industry and competitiveenvironment and establishes the Group’s external factor evaluation matrix.The third chapter analyzes A construction Group’s internal resources andcapabilities for a more objective analysis and argument to establish theGroup’s internal factor evaluation matrix. The fourth chapter clarifies theGroup’s overall strategy, the main business and goals, and the developmentplan of each business segment. The fifth chapter discusses implementation ofthe strategy for the company support system, including infrastructuremanagement, project management, human resources management and otheraspects.This research will provide the Group’s future development direction andguide to action. Meanwhile, this thesis concludes on the other the development of large-scale construction enterprises have a certain referencevalue.
