Energy is an important material resources for human survival and development. It alsoplays an important role in the whole process of the development of society. It belongs tostrategic goods and materials care about the national economic lifeline and safety. With theprogress of human society, energy is becoming more and more important. In recent years, the Inner Mongolia region’s GDP has been grown at the leading level, just as the energyconsumptions. The contradiction between energy consumption and economic growthincrease more and more seriously. It will do harm to the development of economy of InnerMongolia Autonomous region. The problem of energy must be a hot issue in thedevelopment of Inner Mongolia. This paper aimed at the relationship between economic growth and energy consumption ofInner Mongolia region. Firstly, put forward the intrinsic relationship model between energyconsumption and economic growth in this area based on the predecessors’ study. Secondly,on the basic of theoretical framework, use the model of econometrics comprehensively todo the research in energy consumption and economic growth, energy efficiency andeconomic growth, energy prices and economic growth three dimensions in Inner Mongoliaregion. The results will provide reference opinions and suggestions for government andbusiness optimization in industrial structure. The main conclusions of this paper are as follows: At first, the relationship between energyconsumption and economic growth in Inner Mongolia region is balanced and exist long-termequilibrium. It proved that the model of economic growth in Inner Mongolia region is based onthe cost of energy. The second, coal is the most important energy and there is few renewableenergy. The third, throughout the eastern, western areas, there are different in the spatialdistribution between energy consumption and economic growth. The forth, energy efficiencywill promote economic growth in Inner Mongolia. The last, the equilibrium relationshipbetween energy price and economic growth, there is a unidirectional causality from energyprices to economic growth, the decline in energy prices, will lead to increased energyconsumption, so as to promote economic growth. Based on the above conclusions, this paper puts forwards some countermeasures andsuggestions: It should adjust the industrial structure and speed up the development of the tertiaryindustry. It should optimize the energy structure and decrease the proportion of coal. It shouldstrength technical innovation and improves the efficiency of energy. It should reform of energypricing and signal transmission right market. It should clear energy property rights and realizearea energy complementary. It should strength environmental protection and make up theestablishment of circular economy mode. It should strength the macroeconomic regulation andcontrol and realizes the implement policies to guide energy conservation. It should strengthinternational cooperation and establishes energy security system.
