Study On The Industrial Structure Upgrading And Transformation Of Puyang County In Henan Province

The economic development at home and abroad proves that the transformation and upgrading of industrial structure is the only way which must be taken for the industrialization of a country, which has become a key element promoting the regional economic development, of great significance for the sustainable and harmonious development of a country’s economy. Our national economic development is unbalanced growth brought by industrial structure change. How to manage the reasonable upgrading and transformation of industrial structure is an issue that any country or region must pay attention to. With the development of economy, the gross output of national economy is increasing ceaselessly, while the incongruity between industrial structure and economic development is becoming more and more apparent.For the importance of industrial structure upgrading, the whole or province studies of national scholars have become mature gradually, while county economic issues have become a hot issue in the national economic educational circles in recent years, with most national economy and population inside the county economic sphere. Thus research on county economy and the related industrial structure has some significant realistic basis in our country. This thesis analyzes and summarizes the upgrading and transformation issues of industrial structure of Puyang County from the several parts listed below. The detailed contents are hereafter:The first part is the introduction, with a review on the documents on industrial structure’s upgrading theories and transformation laws from home and abroad, systematically summarizing the elements influencing industrial upgrading from home and abroad and the concerned suggestions on optimization and adjustment. This part also makes some deeper insight into the study approaches on the relationship between economic development and industrial structure, thus providing some theoretical basis for the research on Puyang County’s industrial structure.The second part is the core part of this thesis. Through practical investigation and analysis, it makes some introduction on the specific situation and advantageous conditions for transformation of Puyang County. Then, based on the combination of qualitative and quantitative approach, it carries out analysis on the overall upgrading and transformation situation and the upgrading circumstances inside the industrial structure, reaching the conclusion that the evolution of Puyang’s industrial structure is basically in accordance with the evolution law of industrial structure, achieving the transformation from agriculture towards industrialization. But the transformation of industrial structure is not complete, still at the phase giving priority to the industrial development. While the tertiary industry is not sufficient, there is still prodigious uplifting space for the upgrading inside the industrial structure. What follows is the empirical analysis towards the relationship between various industries and Puyang’s overall economy. And that proves that there is non-mutual restrictive relation between the county’s tertiary industry and economic development. It also carries out Granger Causality towards the inter-relationships among industries, finding that the development of secondary industry can drive the development of primary industry and tertiary industry, and that the transformation of industrial structure still depends on the development of secondary industry. Through regression model analysis, compared with the contribution of primary and tertiary industry towards economic development, industrial output contributes the most to the economic development of Puyang County. But the unit production efficiency is not that high compared with tertiary industry.Based on the current situation and empirical analysis of Puyang County, the last part summarizes the specific problems existing in the process of industrial structure upgrading and transformation, while putting forward specific measures and suggestions of perfection concerning the comprehensive development of agricultural industrialization and agriculture, forestry and fishing, promoting production efficiency of secondary industry, taking a new road to industrialization, trying the best to promote the proportion and level of service industry and increasing the input in the development of service industry.
