Since the70s and80s of the20thcentury, the dramatic changes of the business environmentbrought about strategy competition, the rapid development of the knowledge economy makes thetalents the most important resources in the process to achieve corporate’s strategy, during which themiddle-level managers have been paid more expectation and more mission. The systemetic training ofmiddle-level managers is becoming more and more important. The formally proposal of the theory of“Light of Sight” shows the opinions come from many scholars that the employees’ understanding ofthe corporate strategy and the way to achieve it plays an important role in the implementation ofcorporate strategy, which to raise a new requirements for human resource management practices, including training requirements. Therefore, through the analysis of the problem of lack of emphasis on the strategic concept partof existing training theory and practice of the training for middle managers, this study clear theimportance and necessity of the strategic concept training for middle-level managers. Combined thedimension theory of “understanding”, based on the substance of “line of sight” theory, the paperdivides it into5dimensions: strategy comprehend, strategy recognition, action comprehend, actionrecognition, action application. Based on this theory, with the framework of Goldstein training needsanalysis model, this study builds a strategic concept training needs analysis model of middle managers.Using the analytical method of structural equation model, the study successfully analyse the traningcontents system, and also clear the misunderstanding that may exist in the training of object selection. The theoretical model strengthens the connection of the3layers of the Goldstein model, andmake up the lack of operational guidance of the original model. The case study of one certaincompany with the theoretical model tests the model’s practicability as well as provides a theoreticalbasis and practical guidance to the training practice of companies.
