Abusive way of managers’ supervisions is one of the most important factors forEmployees’ counterproductive work behavior. Several studies showed thatcounterproductive work behavior is one of the most serious problems thatorganizations are facing in many countries, and it threaten the health and well-beingof the organization and its members. Based on this background, this paper mainlyexplores the relationship among abusive supervision, counterproductive workbehavior and emotional exhaustion. Emotional exhaustion has mediating effectbetween abusive supervision and counterproductive work behavior. The paper mainlyanswers the following questions: Does abusive supervision affect employee’scounterproductive work behavior? What is the affecting mechanism? In addition, inorder to study abusive supervision’s impact on employee’s work behavior in depth,we introduce task performance which is postive work behavior to compare withcounterproductive work behavior, and analyse wether abusive supervision will affecttask performance through emotional exhaustion? What is the affecting mechanism?Base on the literature review, the paper proposes theoretical model: abusivesupervisionâ†'emotional exhaustionâ†'counterproductive work behavior and taskperformance. Getting data by the questionnaire survey from229effective subjects, the paper uses CITI analysis, Cronbach’s α coefficient method, KMO and Bartlett’stest, fact analysis to test reliability and validity of measurement scale, equation of thelinear regression to test the main effect of abusive supervision and mediating effect ofemotional exhaustion through spss20.0.The empirical result shows that: abusive supervision has obvious effect onemployee’s counterproductive work behavior; emotional exhaustion has mediatingeffect between abusive supervision and employee’s counterproductive work behavior. As a typical negative leadership behavior, abusive supervision could affectsemployee’s counterproductive work behavior positively while affects employee’s taskperformance negatively.
