Study On The Leading Industries In The Poor Areas Of Guangxi

The economic and social development is relatively backward in the poor areas in China, which one of the main reasons of is the relative-lag industry development. Now the status of economic and industrial development in China’s poor areas has presented a threat to the living conditions and the sustainable development of social economy in the poverty-stricken areas and even the whole country. That also caused huge obstacles to build a well-off society in an all-round way in China. Adjusting measures to local conditions to choose suitable leading industry for the development of poor areas, which promote the industry development in poverty-stricken areas. That is the key to ensure that the poor areas shake off poverty to get rich and achieve to the industry and economic sustainable development. Against this background, this paper combined with the natural resources conditions and industry development present situation of the poor areas in Guangxi, using the theories of leading industry choice to research the selection of leading industry in the poor areas of Guangxi. After that, I can explore the effective way of industry development in the poor areas of Guangxi.At first, this paper summarizes the studies about regional leading industry choice by using the methods of literature analysis. The research direction and focus of this paper was put forwarded on the basis of previous studies. Defining the connotation and characteristics of poor areas and the leading industry, and introducing the relevant theoretical basis of leading industry choice, after which this paper introduces the general principles of the poverty region’s leading industry choice and reference. Second, this paper summaries the present situation of industry development in poor regions of Guangxi by using data analysis method, and then points out problems existing in the process of industry development in poor regions of Guangxi. Then, studying the leading industry choice of poor regions in Guangxi by using the methods of empirical analysis in Eviews6.0software, so that we can choose the leading industry which is suitable for the development of poor areas in Guangxi from the first and second industry. At the same time, I choose agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, food production and tobacco processing industry, non-metallic mineral products, accommodation and catering, wholesale and retail as leading industry to cultivate. Finally, the development strategy and suggestions of the leading industry from the first, second and third industry according with the practice of the development in Guangxi poor areas is put forwarded.
