ERP is a powerful tool for small and medium-sized enterprises to improve management level, and enhance the core competitiveness. ERP system selection is the implementation of the ERP foundation. Choosing appropriate ERP system will improve the success rate of ERP system implementation.In ERP system selection, the mathematical models used in the traditional methods are complex and difficult to make managers understood, and variables also cannot be counted accurately in reality. The evaluation standards set up are more one-sided. AHP is a simple, flexible and practical multi-criteria decision method to quantitatively analyze qualitative problem.This dissertation has investigated now ERP system present situation of the application and existing problems, summarizes the characteristics of small medium enterprises and the factors for small medium enterprises to implement ERP system should be considered; puts forward the comprehensive evaluation system, which containing software supplier capacity, software quality the strength of the consulting company, the implementation ability of the enterprise itself and the implementation cost. And according to the actual situation of F company, ERP system selection evaluation system has been made appropriate adjustments to ensure the evaluation system scientific and practical. Through a preliminary investigation of the three companies of UFIDA, Kingdee, NEC and their ERP systems, the project team gathers the corresponding information of these enterprises and their ERP systems; evaluates every ERP system according to the established standards. The project team also evaluates the ability of the consulting company service and that whether the enterprise has the ability to ensure the smooth implementation of ERP system by current management. Finally AHP model is used to assist decision-making and select the appropriate ERP system. A feasible method is offered for small medium enterprises to make ERP system selection.
