The Research On Urban Competitiveness Of Wanjiang Urban Belt

Economic globalization is getting to be the new pattern of world economiccurrently, the economic connections are getting to be closer increasingly. Especiallyafter the participation into the World Trade Organization, the external circumstance ofChinese economic has changed a lot. Meanwhile, Wanjiang Urban Belt is undertakingthe development strategy of national industrial transfer. In this instance, the economicdevelopment of the cities in Wanjiang Urban Belt and even Anhui Province will usherin a historical chance and challenge, which puts forward a rigorous trial to the urbancomprehensive strength of Wanjiang Urban Belt. It seems to be so important andurgent to research the urban competitiveness of Wanjiang Urban Belt.This paper is researched for the issue of urban competitiveness in WanjiangUrban Belt, taking the9cities of Hefei, Chuzhou, Maanshan, Chaohu, Wuhu,Xuancheng, Tongling, Chizhou, Anqing as the researching object. Combining thetheoretical analysis with empirical analysis, and quanlitative analysis with quantitativeanalysis, this paper explains the current situation of the urban competitiveness inWanjiang Urban Belt. Firstly, the paper states the theoretical significance and practicalsignificance of the research basing on the introduction of the researching background.Secondly, the paper studies the basic theory of urban competitiveness, illustrating thebasic conception and theoretical basis of urban competitiveness, combing andsummarizing the domestic and foreign research literature of urban competitiveness.Thirdly, the factor analysis model and cluster analysis model are designed as the basicevaluation model of urban competitiveness respectively, on the basis of the researchtheories of related literature, the evaluation index system of urban competitiveness isdevised to evaluate the system of urban competitiveness synthetically, including30specific indicators in6aspects of economic strength, industrial structure,infrastructure, government function, science and education level, opening degree.Afterwards, the evaluation model of urban competitiveness is applied to the empiricalanalysis to analyze the current situation of urban competitiveness in Wanjiang UrbanBelt. Finally, the consequence of the empirical analysis is summarized to puts forwardrelevant policy suggestions.
